Dear Delegates, Academic and Organization Team, and Honored Guests and Advisors,

 

It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you to VIAMUN’25, where we gather with a shared commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and discovery. As Secretary-General, I am honored to see such a diverse community of young people come together to debate pressing global issues and to envision solutions rooted in cooperation and respect.

 

Model United Nations is more than an academic exercise. It is an opportunity to step into the shoes of decision-makers, to grapple with the complexities of international affairs, and to learn the delicate art of compromise. Over the course of this conference, you will challenge ideas, defend positions, and most importantly, listen to one another. It is in this exchange of perspectives that the true spirit of the United Nations and of our conference comes alive.

 

This year’s agendas reflect the past and the urgent challenges of our world, but it also reflects our belief in the power of youth to make a difference. Whether in the General Assembly or in specialized committees, your debates and resolutions will mirror the values of diplomacy and cooperation that the international community so deeply needs.

 

I encourage each of you to approach this experience with curiosity, courage, and empathy. Do not be afraid to speak, to question, or to collaborate across divides. In doing so, you will not only grow as MUN attendees but also as global citizens.
